Women’s Golf Heads to Houston for NCAA Championship

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- For the 11th year in a row, the Augustana women's golf team is heading to the 2018 NCAA Division II women's golf championship, which takes place at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas on May 16-19. The championship, which features 12 teams and 12 individuals, is hosted by Texas A&M International and the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority.

The teams that are joining the Vikings in Houston are Lindenwood (MO) and Arkansas Tech from the central region, UIndy, Grand Valley State and Missouri-St. Louis from the east region, Barry, Rollins and Nova Southeastern from the south region and Dallas Baptist University, West Texas A&M and California Baptist from the west region.

Seniors Emily Israelson, Sierra Langlie, Kali Trautman, sophomore Hannah Hankinson and freshman Alex Stone are the five participants golfing for Augustana. In the super regional, the five combined to shoot a tournament best 26-over-par for a first place finish. Trautman a Clark Lake, S.D. native finished one-under-par in the three round tournament to take first place. She shot two-over (74) in the first round, three-under (69) in the second round and finished the third found with an even par 72.

Hankinson finished nine-over-par and tied for 11th place while Israelson finished 10-over-par and concluded the tournament in 13th place. Langlie wrapped up the super regional tied for 32nd while Stone finished tied for 43rd.

Each round of the 2018 NCAA Division II women's golf national championship begins with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. (CT).
