Trautman, Stone, Coach Kirby Earn Individual Honors, Three Others Land on NSIC First-Team

BURNSVILLE, MINN. -- The NSIC announced its 2017-18 Women's Golf postseason awards and the list includes five Augustana student-athletes on the all-conference first team to go along with three individual postseason honors, the league office announced Monday.

Kali Trautman earned the NSIC Women's Golfer of the Year for the first time in her career and it's the third consecutive year a member of the Augustama women's golf team has won the award. Alex Stone received the NSIC's Newcomer of the year, the second year in a row an Augie golfer garnered the honor, while head coach Peggy Kirby has been awarded the NSIC Women's Golf Coach of the Year for the eighth time in the last nine years.

Trautman, Emily Israelson, Hannah Hankinson, Sierra Langlie and Stone each landed a spot on the 2017-18 All-NSIC First Team.

Trautman, a senior from Clear Lake, S.D., led the conference with a stroke average of 76.58 over 19 rounds of play in 2017-18. She earned four top-5 finishes and five top-10 finishes, including taking first place at the Nebraska-Kearney Invite where she finished 4-under par (140). At the Nebraska-Kearney Invite, Trautman posted a career low 67 and followed it with a 73.

Stone, a freshman from Cross Lake, Minn. used four top-10 finishes to earn Newcomer of the Year in the NSIC. She shot an average of 78.79 over 19 rounds of golf, which was the fifth highest in the conference. The Pequot Lakes HS product shot 8-over par (152) to win the Golden Bear Fall Classic on Sept. 17-18, 2017. Her best rounds of golf as a freshman came on March 24-25 when she shot just 4-over (148) at the Nebraska-Kearney Invite. In 13 of her 19 rounds of golf she shot 79 or better.

Israelson, senior from Staples, Minn. won the 2018 NSIC Women's Golf Championship, shooting 12-over (228) over three rounds of golf. The Staples High School product tabbed a second place finish at the Golden Bear Fall Classic shooting a 9-over (153) and a third place finish at the Nebraska-Kearney Invite shooting 5-over (149). She averaged a 77.11 over 19 rounds of golf.

Hankinson's best round of golf during her sophomore campaign came in the first tournament of the year when she shot 5-under (139) and took first place at the Central Region Fall Preview. The Edina, Minn. native shot 6-over at the Lindenwood Fall Invitational for a fourth place finish and 6-over at the Nebraska-Kearney Invite for her third top-5 finish of the season.

Langlie tabbed two top-5 finishes and four top-10 finishes in 2017-18. The senior from Andover, Minn. finished 11-over (155) for a third place finish at the Golden Bear Fall Classic. Her best rounds of golf came during the West Texas A7M Invitational when she finished in fourth place and 5-over (149) during the two rounds. She shot a 73 round one and a 76 round two.

As a team, Augustana won its ninth consecutive NSIC Championship and earned a regional bid for the 11th straight season.
