Beagle Named NSIC Swimmer to Watch

BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- The Augustana women's swimming program has been picked to finish fourth in the NSIC this season by the league's coaches the league office announced on Thursday. The Vikings received 33 points. All-American Taylor Beagle was named Augustana's Swimmer to Watch.

After finishing fourth at the NSIC Championships last season, the Vikings welcome their first senior class. The Vikings enter their fourth season of competition this year and already are making considerable waves in their short history.

Beagle, a junior, was named Augustana's Swimmer to Watch after qualifying for the NCAA Championships for the second-straight season. The Lead, South Dakota, native is the first swimmer in program history to earn All-American status (1000 freestyle and 1650 freestyle).

As a team, the Vikings welcome nine freshmen to the team.

Augustana will start their 2019-20 slate traveling to Bismarck, N.D. on Oct. 4-5 to face off against Northern State, UMary and Sioux Falls.


The NSIC Championships will be held in Bismarck, N.D. on Feb. 12-15 and the NCAA Championships will take place on March 11-14 in Geneva, Ohio.


For the fourth consecutive season, St. Cloud State University was picked by the league coaches in the NSIC Swimming & Diving Preseason Coaches' Poll. The defending NSIC Champions received all seven first-place votes (coaches cannot vote for own team) and amassed 49 points, seven points ahead of Minnesota State. The Mavericks received the other first-place vote in the poll to amass 42 points.
