Viking Women's Basketball Hosts Final Nonconference Games

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana women's basketball team hosts its final nonconference games in the Elmen Center this season when it takes on Mount Marty Friday and Bellevue on Monday. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on Friday and 5:30 p.m. on Monday

The Game
The Vikings and the Lancers will matchup for the 21st time on Friday night while the Bruins and Vikings will matchup for the first time Monday. Fans can support Feeding South Dakota by bringing two items to any of the games over the next week in the Elmen Center and receive admission at the discounted rate of $5 per ticket.

The Lancers (4-3) 
Mount Marty enters Friday's contest with a 4-3 overall record and a 0-3 record in the GPAC. The last time out for the Lancers they fell to Briar Cliff 79-72 and to No. 16 Hastings 65-49. Mount Marty is led by Tea, South Dakota, native Karlee McKinney with 16.8 points per contest while Ali Kuca and Jamie Tebben average 11.0 and 10.1 points per game. Tebben has grabbed a team-high 6.7 boards per game while McKinney has dished out 15 assists and has 15 steals on the season. 

As a team, the Lancers shoot at a 38 percent clip from the field and a 28-percent clip from deep. They average 66.9 points per contest while giving up 67.7 points. Augustana has a 15-6 record all-time against Mount Marty. 

The Bruins (5-3)
The Bruins enter Monday's game with a 5-3 record on the season. After winning four of its first five games, the Bruins hit a two-game skid against Kansas Wesleyan and No. 3 College of Ozarks before picking up a win against John Brown 76-58 in their last outing. Bellevue is led by Elexis Martinez with 16.1 points per game. Martinez also leads the team with 8.9 boards per game while Jerrene Richardson leads the team with a 55.1 percent shooting from the field.

As a team, the Bruins average 73.8 points per game while giving up 64.9 points. Bellevue shoots at an efficient 42.1 percent from the field and 31.2 percent from deep. The Bruins distribute the ball well as they average just about 15 assists per game.

The Vikings (2-0)
Augustana defeated Truman State in its season opener in Kirksville, Missouri, and Midland in its home opener on Tuesday. After a dominant first-half performance, the Vikings put to bed a second-half surge from Midland to come away with the 64-56 victory over the Warriors. 

Freshman Lauren Sees led the way with 15 points and now averages 13.5 points per game and a team-high .556 shooting percentage. Vishe' Rabb and Abby Hora are tied with a team-high 14.0 points per contest while Camryn Hay leads the NSIC with six blocks on the season. Hana Metoxen has recorded 6.5 boards a contest and six steals this season.

As a team, the Vikings average 73.5 points per game and give up 59.0 points per game. Augustana has pulled down 41 boards and dished out 8.5 assists per game. The Vikings shoot at a 39 percent clip while limiting their opponents to 26 percent from downtown. 

One Last Thing
Camryn Hay ranks ninth in the nation with 3.0 blocks per contest and leads the NSIC in the same category while Hana Metoxen ranks second in the NSIC with 3.0 steals per game.
