BROOKINGS, S.D. -- The Augustana track and field teams traveled to Brookings, S.D. for the final time of the season this weekend to compete in the SDSU Last Chance. The Vikings also sent a group of athletes to the Maverick Invite in Mankato, Minn. During Friday's events, Augustana took home numerous personal bests and four provisional qualifying marks for the NCAA Division II.

At the Maverick Invite, the women's Distance Medley Relay of Carly Rahn, Olivia Montez Brown, Kali Ryan, and Mackenzie Kelly put up a provisional qualifying time of 12:05.47 and placed second in the event. Josh Barrows took first place in the 800m with a provisional qualifying mark as well, finishing in first at 1:53.83.

At the SDSU Last Chance, the Viking men were highlighted by a first-place finish in the 60m Hurdles by Paul Meloche with a time of 8.14 seconds. The time is good for a provisional qualifier and sits 20th nationally in D-II.

Personal bests were achieved by Tyl Woelber (8.71) and Justin Kooiman (8.80) in the 60m Hurdles, while Ryan Sully (50.10) and Josh Schumacher (51.65) achieved personal bests in the 400m. Evan Johnson (2:32.13) and Endre Wigaard (2:33.58) took the top two spots in the 1000m while also reaching personal best times.

For the Augustana women who competed in Brookings, Selin Dikmen earned her first collegiate victory in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 9.01 seconds. Kendra Ludeman tied her personal best in the high jump, clearing five foot, five inches for a second place finish. Callie DeWitt finished the 60m Dash with a season-best time in a win and provisional qualifying time of 7.62 seconds.

Amanda Peterson finished first in the 3000m with a time of 11:19.62. Freshman Haylee Waterfall took home a win in 800m in 2:18.39, while Anne Kennedy recorded a personal best in the event with a seventh-place finish.

The Vikings will compete next weekend at the NSIC Championships in Mankato before the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships on March 8-9.
