DULUTH, Minn. - The Augustana track and field team wrapped up the NSIC Outdoor Championships on Saturday afternoon as
Bryant Keller, once again, became an NSIC Champion and five Vikings earned All-NSIC honors.
Keller earned a tie for NSIC High Point Earner after winning two separate NSIC Championships.
Patrick Vogel was named as the Elite 18 recipient, awarded to a student-athlete that has achieved at the championship level in the classroom and in their sport.
Keller paced a group of Vikings in the 5000m, winning in a time of 14:45.20, more than two seconds faster than second.
Brady Hogan also earned All-NSIC honors after finishing third in 14:53.05. Two more Vikings saw top-five finishes as
Joseph Levesque clocked a time of 14:59.23 and
Peyton Willbanks finished just behind him at 15:00.10.
Isaiah Anderson placed ninth in the race after finishing in 15:10.10 while nine other Vikings placed in the top-40.
Ellen Merkley had a pair of top-three finishes on the day on the women's side to add to her collection of hardware. In the 200m, she turned in a 23.91 to place second, just 0.01 seconds from first. In the 100m, she earned a third place finish, this time in an 11.59, tied for eighth in the Central Region and 23rd nationally.
Also earning second-place in his respective event was
Jude Jarding. The sophomore finished the 400m in 47.70, narrowly edging out the bronze finisher to take runner-up honors.
Sydnee Serck also earned All-NSIC honors, finishing third after a personal-best 2:12.78 in the 800m, moving into the top-10 in program history.
Ashton Massey just missed out on honors by 0.04 seconds, posting a personal best in the 400 Hurdles with a time of 1:01.18 to place fourth. Also just missing out was
Evan Myran, who led a group of six top-20 Vikings with a 3:58.70 in the men's 1500m.
Nick Batchelor also finished in the top-10, placing sixth with a time of 3:59.17.
Earning 11th in the 1500m was
Will Ahrens while
Max Salas finished 13th with times of 4:03.35 and 4:04.64, respectively.
Addisu Haverly placed 18th with a time of 4:07.82 and
Tarin Hutchinson took 4:08.73.
Ethan Boyens earned points in the 800m, taking seventh place with a time of 1:57.56.
In the women's 5000m,
Tenley Nelson took 10th and
Ramsey Karim finished 11th with times of 18:04.42 and 18:04.89. In 16th was
Lindsey Young after posting an 18:22.35 and
Kaelyn Nelson took 18th with an 18:25.78.
In the women's 1500m, Jordan Arens took 12th with a 4:48.06 and
Brooklyn Becker came in 16th with a time of 4:52.20. In 17th was
Abby Cutler's 4:52.23 and
Avari Getchell placed 18th in 4:52.25. Lexi Olderbak competed in the triple jump, placing 12th with an 11.17m mark.
Three Viking relays ran on Saturday as well. The women's 4x100m team of
Jennifer Noutsougan,
Lily Juhnke,
Lauren Merkley and
Ellen Merkley took fourth with a 47.37.
Blake Morris,
Ethan Boyens,
Liam Schick and Jarding placed fourth in the men's 4x400m with a 3:18.08 and
Ashton Massey, Serck,
Erin Eilers and
Peyton Boeck took sixth in the women's 4x400m with a 3:58.62.
