Vikings Pick Up Two Wins in Bemidji

Augustana now moves to 6-0 and 4-0 in the NSIC

BOX SCORE 1 BEMIDJI, Minn. -- The Augustana women's tennis team was back in action for a pair of conference matches against Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State on Sunday afternoon. The Vikings (6-0, 4-0 NSIC) took care of business defeating Minnesota Crookston, 5-0 and Bemidji State, 4-0 at the Gillett Wellness Center.

Augustana swept play in doubles and singles action in a win over Minnesota Crookston without giving up a set in either.

Starting in singles action, Taylor Jackson defeated Ashley Smith 6-0, 6-0 to pick up her fifth win in singles action, Grace Goble picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win over Hanna Ruckheim, Anca Rusu defeated Diane Cilengi 6-0, 6-0 and Rebecca Falkner defeated Karli Renney 6-0, 6-0.

Over in doubles action Jackson teamed up with Rusu to defeat Smith and Cilengi 6-0 and Goble and Falkner defeated Ruckheim and Hannah Zhao 6-0 to finish up doubles action Sunday morning.

The Vikings completed the weekend sweep with a 4-0 win over Bemidji State on Sunday afternoon.

In singles action, Goble defeated Hannah Alme 6-1, 6-2 to pick up her sixth win of the season, Rusu defeated Breann Walsh 6-4, 6-0 for her fifth win of the season and Rebecca Falkner took down Hannah Peterson 6-0, 6-1 for her second win of the season.

On the doubles side of things, Kornelia Staniszewska and Laura Arce Vieyra teamed up once again to take down Walsh and Brooke Mimmack 6-0 and Goble and Annika Teske teamed up for the fifth time this season to defeat Peterson and Alme 6-2.

Augustana will travel to Winona, Minn. to take on Winona State at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and Upper Iowa at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
