BROOKINGS, S.D. -- Competing for the third time this season at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex, the Augustana men and women's track and field team had another successful weekend in Brookings. The women finished in eighth place, and the men took home 12th place at the SDSU Indoor Classic over the weekend.

On the women's side, one of the top performances of the weekend was Callie DeWitt who put together a strong session with an impressive performance in the women's 60m dash prelim. The Sioux Falls native clocked in at 7.63 seconds, which is an NCAA DII provisional qualifying mark and the 23rd-best time in the nation. In the finals, DeWitt took second place with a time of 7.68 seconds.

DeWitt continued an outstanding weekend as she finished third in the long jump, leaping 5.37m (17 foot, 7.5 inches). She also placed fifth in the 200m with a season-best time of 25.32 seconds. Meagan Schenk took third in the 1000m with a time of 3:03.11. In the 60m hurdles, Olivia Montez Brown picked up four team points for the Vikings, finishing fifth overall with a time of 8.72 seconds.

Moving to the women's 800, the Vikings top performance came from Carly Rahn. The sophomore clocked in at 2:12.83, which not only spotted her in sixth place, but also improved her personal best by more than five seconds. Her time is a provisional qualifier and ranks 22nd nationally for DII.

On the men's side, Josh Barrows was the highest-placing Viking, taking second in the 800m with a provisional qualifying time of 1:52.14. Aaron Runge set a new personal best of 14:46.94 and took home third place in the 5000m.

In the men's 60m, Paul Meloche placed third overall with a time of 8.25 seconds. Meloche also put up a personal best and a provisional qualifying mark in the 60m hurdles during the semi-finals with a time of 8.17 seconds, which is good for 25th in all of Division II.

The Vikings also saw personal bests reached for several individuals, with Noah Melton (1:56.48) and Nick Reiffenberger (1:58.29) who each achieved best marks in the 800m. Endre Wigaard (4:22.43) and Skylar DeJong (4:24.79) also put up personal bests in the Mile.

Augustana returns to Brookings on February 15 for the SDSU Last Chance Meet, for an opportunity for individuals to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships in March.
