KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Following a pair of wins on Sunday in Florida, the Augustana softball team pushed their win streak to four games and moved to 7-1 in the sunshine state. Augustana opened Monday with a 10-2 win over Jefferson University (PA) and closed the afternoon with a 2-0 win over Merrimack (MA) University. Augustana moves to 12-4 (0-0 NSIC) overall.
Moments that mattered:
- Both Maggie Kadrlik and Ashley Mickschl collected three RBI in game one. Mickschl also pitched a complete-game two-hitter.
- Amber Elliott pitched five shutout inning in game two to grab the win. Over her last three outings, she has tossed 14.1 innings, allowed two hits, 0 runs, and 18 strikeouts
- Over eight games, the Viking have outscored their opponents 73-17
- Augustana is hitting 81-for-233 (.347) during the spring break trip.
- The Viking have recorded shutouts in four-of-eight games so far.Â
Game One:
Although Jefferson came out swinging in game one and plated two early runs, the Vikings answered quickly as they tied the game up in the bottom of the first. After
Mary Pardo got on base, Mickschl started the scoring with a single through the right side. Kadrlik followed with an RBI as well.
Kadrlik stayed hot in her next at-bat, driving in a pair of runs on a single up the middle. Now leading 4-2, the Vikings

Bross connected a two-run double to extended the lead, and then in the 5th, and Pardo added on with an RBI. Pardo, who is just a freshman, is second on the team with a .358 average.
Mickschl closed the game strong, tossing four shutout innings to pick up her fifth win of the year. She walked one and ended the day with six strikeouts.Â
Game Two:
Amber Elliott was handed the ball to start game two and continued to dominate from the circle. With multiple pitches working, she tossed five impressive innings, allowing one hit, zero runs, zero walks and six strikeouts. Over the sophomore's last three games, she has pitched 14.1 innings, allowed two hits, zero runs, and 18 strikeouts.
With Elliott pitching strong, the offense didn't need much. In the 4th,
Samantha Eisenreich connected on an RBI trip to right center, scoring
Becca Koupal. Eisenreich also scored the games final run on an error.Â
Olivia Wolters came into the close the game in the 5th, dealing two strong innings to put the game on ice. Wolters also picks up her first save of the year.
The Vikings now have four games remaining in Florida. Starting on Tuesday morning, Augustana will take on Lock Haven (PA) at 8:15 a.m. and Caldwell (NJ) at 12:30 p.m.
