SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana track and field teams head out across the midwest this week as the team is going to compete in the Mt. Marty Classic, Drake Relays, and Simpson Invite.
The one-day Mt. Marty Classic begins tomorrow in Yankton, S.D., while the three-day Drake Relays begin on Thursday in Des Moines, Iowa, and the single-day Simpson Invite begins on Friday in Indianola, Iowa.
The NSIC Multi Championships also begin on Sunday in Aberdeen, S.D.
The bulk of the Vikings roster competed at the Northwestern Red Raider Open this past weekend, while a select group traveled to California to compete in the Beach Invitational, Mt. Sac Relays, and the Bryan Clay Invitational.
During last week's competition,
Olivia Montez Brown led the way, posting an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying point total in the heptathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Mearah Miedema took first place in the high jump at the Northwestern Red Raider Invite with a personal best.
Lily Noble took first place at the same meet for in the pole vault.
Kali Ryan won the women's 800m title and
Sydney Mudgett won the 400m with a season-best time.
On the men's side,
Tyl Woelber won the decathlon at the Red Raider Open while achieving an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark.
Josh Barrows ran the 400m hurdles at the Mt. Sac Relays with an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark.
Following the weekend, the Vikings will compete in Sioux Falls on May 3 and 4 when they participate in the Howard Wood Relays.
