BURNSVILLE, Minn. — After successful seasons in their respective sports, Augustana student-athletes have also excelled in the classroom. On Thursday, the Northern Sun Conference (NSIC) announced their All-Academic teams for the 2019 Spring season, and 68 Augustana student-athletes are honored by the conference.

In addition, 35 Viking student-athletes earned the conferences top academic award, the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence. To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, a student-athlete must have a 3.60 cumulative GPA or higher.

To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic teams, a student-athlete must have a 3.20 cumulative GPA or higher, be a member of the varsity traveling team, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her/his institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshman, ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.

Overall, 749 Northern Sun Conference student-athletes earned NSIC All-Academic, with 391 student-athletes were named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence.
