USTFCCCA Announces All-Academic Awards for Division II Track & Field Teams

Both teams, nine women, and three men were all honored with All-Academic Awards

NEW ORLEANS -- The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the teams and individuals that qualified for All-Academic honors. The Vikings had a strong showing as both the men's and women's teams and 12 individuals were honored on the 2019 USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams for NCAA Division II Track & Field.

Only 79 men's programs in the country earned the award and the Vikings did so by posting a 3.2 cumulative GPA which ranked 20th in the country. The women's team posted a program record GPA of 3.57 which ranked ninth nationally in order to secure the award. In addition, the women had 30 track & field athletes that made the Dean's List at Augustana (GPA over 3.50). 

A total of 448 women earned individual honors for the 2018-19 season while 312 men did the same. The Vikings that were honored are listed below:

Men:

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic award, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor season.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is a non-profit professional organization representing cross country and track & field coaches of all levels. The organization represents thousands of coaching members encompassing NCAA track & field programs (DI, DII, and DIII) and includes members representing the NAIA and NJCAA, as well as a number of state high school coaches associations. The USTFCCCA serves as an advocate for cross country and track & field coaches, providing a leadership structure to assist the needs of a diverse membership, serving as a lobbyist for coaches' interests, and working as a liaison between the various stakeholders in the sports of cross country and track & field.
