SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- After a successful start to the fall season for the Augustana women's tennis team at the Drake Invite, the Vikings will host the Augustana Invite on Saturday and Sunday at McKennan Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The Invite
The opening rounds will start on Saturday at 9 a.m. with the final rounds finishing up on Sunday morning. Six teams will compete in the invite. Instead of team scores, players will compete as individuals in singles and doubles flights to determine a flight champion.
The Opponents
Nebraska-Kearney, Missouri Western, Rockhurst, Sioux Falls, UMary and Augustana are all slated to compete in the Augustana Invite.

Freshmen Emily Granson and
Aleksandra Kistanova paired up together in flight 'A' doubles in their debut for the Vikings to take home the consolation championship. After a second-round bye, the duo took on Nylund/Girbau from South Dakota on Saturday and took the match 8-5 to advance to the consolation championship on Sunday. With an 8-4 win over the host school Drake the pair earned the consolation championship.
One Last Thing
The Vikings earned three consolation titles last week in both doubles and singles flights against mainly Division I teams. Anca Rusu earned the highest placing of all the Vikings on the weekend placing third after defeating Valentina Caro 8-4.
