SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana men's golf team opens its fall season this weekend at the Jr. Watkins Invitational. Winona State hosts the invitational at The Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, Minnesota. The course plays just over 7,000 yards and features three par-five holes for a course par of 71.

The Event
The Vikings will tee off on Friday, Sept. 6, in Lake City, Minnesota. The two-day event wraps up on Saturday after the third round of golf is complete.

The 2019-20 Augustana men's golf team looks to improve in the NSIC standings after an eighth-place finish at the NSIC Championships last season. The 2018-19 Vikings featured five top-ten finishes, including a second place finish at the Augustana Invitational. The 2019-20 roster features a young squad of one freshman, four sophomores, and one junior led by three seniors: Cole Crawford, Brennen Fuhr, and Erik Malling.

Player to Watch
For the second-straight year, Jacob Lee was named the Preseason Vikings Golfer to Watch. The now-sophomore led the Vikings with an average of 77.5 strokes per round and shot his season-low round of 68 at the Mules National Golf Club. Notable finishes for Lee took place at the Augustana Invitational (fourth place) and the NSIC Championships (16th place).
