Augustana Men’s Golf Finishes Day Two, Round Three of Jackrabbit Invitational

BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- In a highly competitive field of Division I golf programs, the Augustana men's golf team placed 13th at the Jackrabbit Invitational at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.

Sophomore Jacob Lee led the Vikings with a three-round score of 245. Lee's lowest score took place in round one with a score of 81 including a birdie with pars on nine holes. Fellow sophomore Alex Stanz followed closely behind with a three-round score of 247. Stanz birdied three holes on the weekend, two of which came in round one which doubled as his best round with a score of 77.

Senior Cole Crawford turned in a three-round score of 248 and tied for the best round total of the weekend with a score of 76 in the opening tour of the course. Crawford birdied two holes on the weekend as well.

Sophomore Sam Sutcliffe and freshman Spencer Ehlers both finished with three-round scores of 249. Sutcliffe tied Crawford for the lowest round total of the weekend with a 76 in round one. Sutcliffe notched four birdies as well. Ehlers, competing individually, led the Vikings with six birdies on the weekend, three apiece in rounds one and three.

Sophomore Hunter Von Bergen finished with a three-round total of 263 while notching two birdies as well, both in the third-round of the tournament.

The Vikings have a quick turnaround as they are set to compete in the Winona State Warrior Invitational in Henderson, Nevada on Monday and Tuesday. Winona State will host the tournament at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club.
