BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Augustana University has claimed the highest number of NSIC All-Academic honorees for the 2019-20 school year after adding 81 student-athletes to the list with the announcement of the NSIC Spring All-Academic Teams on Tuesday. Augustana concludes the school year with 237 NSIC All-Academic honorees.
 
Over half of Augustana's 81 spring honorees earned the Team of Excellence distinction for owning a GPA higher than 3.60.
 
"Academic excellence is the core of who we are and I continue to be so proud of our student-athletes," Director of Athletics Josh Morton said. "Our spring sports missed out on all or most of their seasons this year and as we've continued to stay connected with them, I'm even more proud of their perseverance and resiliency in the classroom.
 
"As I told them there is no doubt, we will celebrate leading the all-sports standings in competition and now we can add the classroom to that as well!"
 
To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, a student-athlete must have a 3.60 cumulative GPA or higher, while the NSIC All-Academic Team members must have a 3.20 GPA or higher.
 
Additionally, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his/her institution and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
