SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana's Jennifer Jacobs has been selected as a Women Leaders X grant recipient allowing the Viking volleyball head coach to attend the NCAA/Women Leaders Division II Governance Academy.

"I am proud to have Coach Jacobs represent our department as part of this special event," Augustana Director of Athletics Josh Morton said. "Continuous improvement and professional development take an ever great importance during times like this as we all navigate the uncharted waters of higher education during a pandemic, and we look forward to Jen sharing what she learned with us."

Jacobs, entering her fourth year with Augustana, will attend the virtual academy on Oct. 11 and 12.

"Women Leaders is the premier organization that advances and supports women in our profession," Jacobs said. "I am excited to attend the virtual convention and I am looking forward to connecting with leaders across our industry.

"I want to specifically thank Alison Cordes from the NSIC for nominating me, and say thank you   to NCAA Division II and Women Leaders in continuing to create professional development opportunities for all!"

The academy will have speakers such as Robin Roberts, co-anchor of Good Morning America, Muffet McGraw, the two-time National Champion former Notre Dame head coach and Carla Harris, a motivational speaker and author who is a Wall Street Banker & Vice President of Morgan Stanley.

The 2020 convention motto is, "Women Leaders X will break down the bounds of physical space and bring everything you love about the convention – the energy, connectivity, growth and inspiration – virtually".
