Augustana Swimming Set for Coyote Invitational

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana Swimming team returns to competition after a weekend off on Friday and Saturday. The Vikings will compete at the Coyote Invitational hosted by the University of South Dakota this weekend at the Midco Aquatics Center. 

There will be no spectators allowed at the meet.

About the Vikings

Although Augustana has only competed for just one weekend, it has made the most of the season thus far. The Vikings currently have nine individuals within the top-15 times in the NSIC in their respective events, including two relay teams in the top four. 

The 800-free relay team consisting of Taylor Beagle, Kamryn Robarge, Hannah Oeltjen and Ruth Huffman, currently sit second in the conference with a time of 8:06.61. The 400-free relay is currently fourth in the conference coming from the dual meet against USF.

Beagle is currently ranked second in the NSIC in both the 500-free and 1000-free with times of 5:13.89 and 10:34.78 respectively. 

About the Opponents

There will be four other teams at the Coyote Invitational, two Division I programs in South Dakota and South Dakota State. The two other schools scheduled to compete at the Coyote Invitational are Sioux Falls and Iowa Central Community College. 

Swimmer to Watch

Sophomore Ruth Huffman has shown strength in the butterfly events. She is in a prestigious class, being one of eight within the conference who is currently within the top-16 in all three butterfly events.
