SIOUX CENTER, Iowa -- The Augustana cross country teams traveled to Sioux Center, Iowa, to compete in the Defender Holiday Inn Express Classic, hosted by Dordt University, on Saturday morning.
Sophomore Cami Streff paced the 5,000m course in 18:28.24 to win the event. Freshman Aubrey Surage was close behind, placing second in 18:35.33.
In total, the Vikings had six within the top-ten to win the meet scoring 20 points.
Senior Meagan Schenk was the third Viking through the finish, placing fifth in 18:52.45. Freshman Caroline Sudbeck placed seventh (19:01.58) with senior Claire Boersma rounding out the scoring for Augustana placing eighth in 19:02.69.
Although the men did not have a complete team, the Vikings still had a strong showing with Jonah Breuer leading the Vikings with a 16th place finish, running 26:16.51.
Freshman Caden Tegethoff placed 57th and sophomore Nick Larson placed 97th.
