Augustana Soccer Represented by Seven on All-NSIC Teams

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.-- Augustana soccer saw seven players earn all-conference honors, announced by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference on Thursday. Seniors Alexis Legg, Savannah Ellender, and Morgan Keirstead all picked up First Team All-Conference honors. Juniors Sylvia Fehr and Kelly Kleekamp, sophomore Jillian Barkus and senior Bailey Parsons were named to the Second Team All-Conference honors list.

Legg, from Ankeny, Iowa has led the Vikings in goals this season with 15. In the last six games for Augustana, Legg has scored at least one goal. She recorded her first career hat trick against Winona State in a 4-3 victory for the Vikings. Legg earned NSIC Player of the Week honors for her role in the team's win.

Ellender, hailing from Rapid City, South Dakota is a key member of the Augustana defense. She has helped AU hold its opponent to just 10.7 shots per game this season, and recorded her first career goal in a 2-0 victory at Southwest Minnesota State. Ellender earned NSIC Player of the Week honors after helping her team to 11 shutouts on the season.

Keirstead, from Savage, Minnesota, has recorded 22 points this season, scoring seven goals and tallying eight assists. She has at least one shot in 18 of 19 games played. Keirstead has been instrumental in the midfield for Augustana, tallying 25 shots on goal and helping her team to 11 straight wins going into the postseason. 

Fehr, earning second-team honors, leads the Vikings in assists this season with 15. Fehr broke three Augustana records: most assists from an individual in a single play and most assists in a single season. 

Barkus, from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, started in 18 of 19 games in goal for Augustana. The Vikings have recorded 11 shutouts this season, and Barkus has recorded minutes in net for all shutouts. Barkus has made 83 saves and tallied a save percentage of 0.847.

Kleekamp, from Olathe, Kansas, has seen the field in 14 games for Augustana this season. Kleekamp's single goal this season came in an overtime bout against conference opponent UMary. Kleekamp netted the game winner, helping the Vikings to continue their win streak. 

Parsons, hailing from Bennington, Nebraska, holds down the midfield for the Vikings. She has recorded one goal, the game-winner at MSU Moorhead, and recorded 1730 minutes on the field this fall.

Augustana will play on Friday in the semifinals of the NSIC Tournament against Minnesota State. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m.
