In the most recent USTFCCCA national poll, both Viking squads were ranked within the top-five with the women being ranked third and the men being ranked fourth.

In the journey to nationals, both Viking squads earned first-place finishes at the conference and regional meet.

The Vikings performance at the regional meet was a historic one, having all 14 athletes that raced earn USTFCCCA All-Region honors for the central region, the only team in the country to achieve this feat.

The women of Augustana defended their 2019 Central Region title being led by Megan Means who placed second in a time of 20:32.45. The men followed suit, winning its first Central Region title since 2017, Ryan Hartman led the way for the Vikings placing fourth in 29:46.14.

At the conference meet, the men's team had a perfect score of 15 with Austin Miller leading the way for the Vikings. The women won their first conference meet since 2014 with Patty Jo English earning a runner-up finish in a time of 21:41.
