Three Augustana Football Student-Athletes Named CoSIDA All-District

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana football team had three members named to the CoSIDA Super Region Four All-District Team announced Thursday. The trio of Luke Fritsch, T.J. Liggett and Eli Weber all repeat at All-District honorees from the 2020-21 academic year.
 
Fritsch is a biology major owning a 3.4 GPA while Liggett is a computer science major with a 3.97 GPA. Weber owns a 3.69 GPA while earning a nursing degree. Both Weber and Fritsch are returning Academic All-America honorees.
 
On the field, Fritsch played in all 11 regular-season games at defensive back. Hailing from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Fritsch has recorded 29 tackles and two sacks. He garnered his first-career sack in the Vikings' win at UMary on Sept. 11 and followed up with his second in the win against Winona State. He also recorded an interception in the win at Minnesota State.
 
Liggett, hailing from Rosemount, Minnesota, is the Vikings' leading tackler with 78 tackles over the 11 games and earned First Team All-NSIC South Division accolades. At linebacker, he has been credited with four quarterback hurries and four pass breakups and has totaled 9.5 tackles for loss.
 
Weber is also a First Team All-NSIC South Division honoree. The native of Dawson, Minnesota, started all 11 games at defensive back and racked up 57 tackles, seven tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. In addition, he intercepted two passes.
 
The trio helped Augustana win its first NSIC Championship and has the No. 25 ranked Vikings in the NCAA Division II Playoffs set to begin Saturday. The Vikings host Bemidji State at noon inside Kirkeby-Over Stadium with tickets available at GoAugie.com/Tickets.
