SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana head men's tennis coach Marc Kurtz is pleased to announce the signing of Alex Bigsby to the 2021-22 roster. Bigsby, hailing from Fremont, Nebraska, went 23-5 during his senior season at Fremont Senior High School.
 
"We are thrilled to have Alex sign and join our team next fall," Kurtz said. "Alex is a solid player and has been a highly-ranked junior in Nebraska and Missouri Valley section for many years.
 
"Alex had a strong senior season but he is also an excellent student who will thrive at Augustana."
 
Bigsby placed second at No. 1 singles at the Nebraska State Tournament as a senior while also winning the Fremont Invitational. As a junior, he also placed fifth at the state tournament. During his sophomore campaign, playing in doubles, he placed fourth in doubles at the state tournament.
 
While at Augustana, Bigsby plans to pursue a degree in business administration.
 
Bigsby joins fellow Nebraska native, Joseph Plachy, as part of the signing class for next season.
