SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana men's tennis team takes its unblemished record on the road Saturday to Fremont, Nebraska, for a pair of matches. The Vikings face the Warriors of Midland at 11 a.m. and the Tigers of Doane at 2 p.m.
About the Vikings
Augustana is unblemished on the season with a 2-0 record, and every Viking that has stepped on the court has not lost. The Vikings have forfeited at No. 6 singles both duals in 2021 but in singles 1-5 and doubles 1-2.
Cade Damgaard has been playing No. 1 singles with the 2-0 mark and partners with
Tory Shafer at No. 1 doubles.
The other Vikings to have competed this year include
Tyson Cowger (No. 4 singles),
Eden Mrozek (No. 3 singles) and
Jakson Stoutamire (No. 2 singles).
About the Warriors
Midland is 2-0 this season with a 6-1 victory over Baker and a 5-2 win over Bethany. Since then, Midland has had its past three duals postponed. They'll face William Woods on Friday before meeting with AU on Saturday.
About the Tigers
The Tigers are 2-2 on the season with one match happening in October. Since the turn of the calendar, Doane is 2-1 having won two-straight matches. The Victories are over the University of Dubuque, 9-0, and over Grand View 4-3.
Jorge Chevez is the reigning GPAC Player of the Week and holds a 3-1 record in singles.
