DES MOINES, Iowa -- A group of the Augustana track & field's women's distance team made the trip to Des Moines, Iowa, to compete in the 5,000m at the Blue Oval Invitational on Saturday.

Four Vikings competed in the 5,000m in Megan Means, Mia Salas, Rachel Rairdon and Rebekah Rairdon.

Means was the first Viking to finish placing second in a new personal-best time of 17:01.22. The time is an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. 

Rebekah Rairdon placed fourth with a time of 17:24.79 followed closely by Salas in a time of 17:27.73. Rachel Rairdon crossed the finish line in 17:36.69 placing sixth in the race.

The Augustana track team returns to action Thursday competing at the Dordt Invite, in Sioux City, Iowa.
