BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- Augustana freshman tennis student-athlete Valeriya Monko has been named the NSIC Player of the Week for the third time this season. Monko went 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 2-0 in No. 1 doubles over the weekend for this week's honor.

Monko defeated two players who earned previous NSIC Player of The Week honors in UMary's Tasha Dembo and MSU Moorhead's Julia Geske going 6-2, 6-2, and 6-2, 6-2, respectively.

She is still undefeated at 11-0 in No. 1 singles and 11-0 with freshmen partner Florentia Hadjigeorgiou in No. 1 doubles. Monko continues to make a strong case for NSIC Player of The Year and NSIC Freshmen of The Year honors.

Augustana is 10-1 on the season and will play College of Charleston on March 31.
