SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Augustana men's tennis team is headed to the East Coast to play a pair of matches as part of its spring break trip. The Vikings will start by facing Augusta in Augusta, Georgia, slated for 11 a.m. Wednesday and travel to Hilton Head, South Carolina, the following day for a match against Benedict College at 11 a.m.
About the Vikings
Augustana owns a 3-5 record this season. In doubles play, Cade Damgaard and Tory Shafer are 2-0 on the season at No. 1 doubles. Shafer leads the Vikings in wins this season with five. Just behind him is Tyson Cowger with four wins.
About the Jags
Augusta is 4-4 on the season and 1-4 within the Peach Belt Conference. Last time out, Augusta lost 5-2 to Flagler while Ricard Rubio won No. 1 singles going 6-4, 6-2, and Alvaro Quereda won No. 6 singles going 5-7, 6-3, 7-6.
About the Tigers
Benedict College has not competed yet this season having two postponements coming last month. The roster is composed of three seniors, two juniors, and a sophomore.
