RICHMOND, Va -- The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected the Augustana women's swimming team for Scholar All-American honors announced Tuesday. Augustana is one of 426 schools to receive the award for the Spring semester. The team earned the honor after posting a GPA of 3.4
"Coach Micko consistently produces winners in the pool and classroom and this year is no exception," noted CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart. "These are some of the best ambassadors of Augustana and Director of Athletics Josh Morton, President Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, and Dr. Marcia Entwistle can and should be proud of these 22 women."
This is the third time in program history that the Vikings have acquired the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American honors, the first coming in the fall semester of 2016.
Augustana was one of nine NSIC teams to be named to the 2021 Scholar All-America Team.
In addition to the excellence in the classroom, the Vikings also thrived in the pool with a fifth-place finish at the NSIC Championships along with senior Taylor Beagle repeating as Swimmer of the Meet and Swimmer of the Year for the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.Â
Beagle also earned four All-America honors, one first team honor in the 1,000-free and second team honors in the 400-IM, 500-free and 1650-free.
