SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- For the second year in a row, Augustana swimmer Taylor Beagle has been tabbed the NSIC Preseason Swimmer of the Year, while Augustana has been selected to finish fourth in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll the league office announced on Thursday.
Beagle, hailing from Lead, South Dakota, is a returning two-time NSIC Swimmer of the Year and Swimmer of the Meet at the NSIC championships. In the postseason last year, Beagle earned three All-America honors while also lowering two of her own school records in the 400-IM (4:22.76) and the 500-free (4:57.38).Â
Head coach Lindsie Micko enters her sixth season at the helm of the Augustana swimming & diving program and brings in seventeen newcomers to compete for the Vikings this year along with the first year of divers for Augustana.
The Vikings will begin their season the weekend of Oct. 8 first heading to Brookings for a dual against SDSU. Augustana then heads to St. Paul, Minnesota, for a dual against St. Thomas.
