Sioux Falls, S.D. -- The Augustana swimming and diving team gets ready to open 2022 with a dual with Sioux Falls on Friday at the Midco Aquatics Center beginning at 5 p.m. On Saturday, the men's and women's teams travel to Omaha, Nebraska, for a dual with Omaha at 2 p.m.
Friday's event will honor Viking women's swimming and diving seniors

Alysse Grohs,
Hannah Oeltjen,
Kamryn Robarge,
Rebecca Schmidt, and
Isabel Waite.
The Vikings are ranked No. 21 in the CSCCA's women's swimming and diving top 25. It is the highest ranking of an NSIC school in the nation. Augustana last competed on November 20 in the Augustana Invitational where the Vikings placed fourth with a score of 781.50. The Vikings are now 8-6 in the season.
Beagle set three school records at the Augustana Invitational. First was in the 500-Free with a time of 4:54.71 which is within 'B' qualifying standard. After that record setting performance, she helped to break another record in the 800-Free relay with a time of 7:37.31. The team consisted of Beagle,
Libby Breckon, Robarge, and
Amaya Street. The final record broken was 200-Free where Beagle set a record time of 1:52.71. Beagle also is ranked No. 7 in the nation for 1650 with a time of 17:06.16 which is within the 'B' qualifying standard.
The Augustana men's swimming and diving team will be continuing its inaugural season after also competing in the Augustana Invitational where it finished fourth with a score of 760.50.
Pedro Borin led the way for the Vikings at the Augustana Invitational, winning two events. First, he won the 100-fly with a time of 49.98 which is within the 'B' qualifying standard. Then he won the 200-fly with a time of 1:50.38.
These are the final events before the swimming and diving conference championships. The men's will be traveling for the GLIAC Championships in Saginaw, Michigan, February 4-7. The women's team will be in Sioux Falls for the NSIC Championships at the Midco Aquatics Center February 9-12.
