Swim and Dive Claim Four Events against USF

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --- Augustana Swimming and Diving kicked off 2022 winning four events in a dual with Sioux Falls at the Midco Aquatics Center Friday night. Sioux Falls would win the events 137-125 over the Vikings.  

Taylor Beagle claimed three victories to lead the way for the Augustana women's team. She would first win the 1000-yard free with a time of 10:30.58, just five seconds over her best time this year. Beagle picked up her second victory on the day in the 500-yard free with a time of 5:08.42. Her final victory would be in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:11.68.

Event five on the day would see Nesrine Jelliti make her Augustana debut by winning the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.63. She beat current NSIC leader, Inte Pas, from Sioux Falls to claim her first-collegiate win.  

On the men's side, Pedro Borin would continue to build the school record book in the 50-yard free with a time of 21.69. Jackson Dircks would finish second in the event with a time of 22.60. Borin would also go on to post a time of 53.23 in the 100-yard free event.  

The Vikings will next be in action on the men's side in the GLIAC Championships in Saginaw, Michigan, Feb. 4-7. The women will be in action in the NSIC Championships Feb. 9-12 at the Midco Aquatics Center in Sioux Falls.
