SIOUX FALLS S.D. – The Augustana women's swimming and diving team lands at number eight in the initial College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America Poll (CSCAA). The ranking is the highest in program history. 

The No. 8 Vikings are coming off a spectacular weekend at the Midco Aquatic Center with a strong win over Division I St. Thomas 211-89 in the second week of competition. 

The Vikings women have so far bested the favorite of the NSIC Preseason Coaches Poll, St. Cloud State 190-110 in the first weekend of competition. In the same meet, AU dominated its cross-town competitor Sioux Falls 192-102. 

Bryn Greenwaldt, a freshman, has been a highlight for the team this season being named NSIC Swimmer of the Week in the first week of competition. Last week Greenwaldt continued on her success in the meet against St. Thomas where she placed first in the 100-free with a time of 52.95. 

The two-year old diving program for Augustana has seen success through divers Clare Duplissis and Kate Robbins who slid into second and third place in the one-meter dive during last week's meet against St. Thomas. Duplisses took second place with a final score of 214.85, while Robbins took third place scoring 211.30.

In addition the men's team, in its second season of competition, was in the receiving votes category.
