BURNSVILLE, Minn.--Augustana soccer saw six players earn all-conference honors, announced by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference on Wednesday morning. Morgan Keirstead earned First Team All-Conference honors. Josie Arduser, Jillian Barkus, Sylvia Fehr, Katherine Pelton and Mackenzie Ternes were named to the Second Team All-Conference honors list.
The Vikings completed the regular season with an overall record of 11-6-2 and an NSIC record of 10-4-1. Augustana defeated the Winona State Warriors in the first round of the NSIC tournament and are set to face the Bemidji State Beavers at 11 a.m. on Friday in Mankato, Minnesota.
Morgan Keirstead
Keirstead, from Savage, Minnesota, has recorded 19 points this season, scoring seven goals and tallying five assists. She has at least one shot in 16 of 19 games played. Keirstead has tallied 24 shots on goal and 50 total shots. The all-conference honor is Keirstead's fourth all-NSIC honor after garnering first team honors in 2021 and second team honors in 2018 and 2019.
Josie Arduser
Josie Arduser has contributed nine goals this season, leading the Vikings with 23 points after adding five assists. Arduser has made the start in 18 of 19 games that the Vikings have played this season. The Lincoln, Nebraska, native has totaled at least one shot on goal in 16 of 19 games in 2022.
Jillian Barkus
Barkus, from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has made the start in all 19 games that the Vikings have played. Barkus has a save percentage of 0.822 having faced 172 shots. The goalkeeper also recorded eight shutouts in 2022.
Sylvia Fehr
Fehr, earning second team honors, has recorded seven goals and six assists this season, totaling 20 points. Fehr netted four goals in Augustana's 5-0 victory against Sioux Falls. Fehr became the Augustana soccer career assists leader after adding her 20th career assist on Arduser's goal in AU's 4-3 win over MSU Moorhead. Fehr totaled 15 assists last season, a single season record, and four assists in 2019, to enter 2022 tied for the career record at 19. She surpassed Stephanie Goos who played for the Vikings from 2007-10.
Katherine Pelton
Pelton, from Papillon, Nebraska, has appeared in 19 games making 18 starts for the Vikings. Pelton netted her first goal of the season in Augustana's 2-0 victory over Upper Iowa in the regular season. As a key part of the midfield, Pelton has been a part of a defensive unit that has held opponents to just 16 goals and 0.84 goals per game.
Mackenzie Ternes
Ternes earns All-NSIC second team honors for the first time in her career. The Vadnais Heights, Minnesota, native has recorded two shots this season and has made the start in all 19 games for the Vikings in 2022. Defensively, Ternes has helped Augustana hold opponents to 16 goals and 0.84 goals per game.
