BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Augustana sophomore tennis student-athlete Valeriya Monko has been named the NSIC Player of the Week. This is her first honor of the season and the fourth of her career.

Monko went 2-0 in No. 1 singles, besting MSU Moorhead's Emma Andersen 6-0, 6-0, and UMary's Chloe Chong 6-3, 6-1. Monko also went 2-0 in No. 1 doubles, pairing with Florentia Hadjigeorgiou beating MSU Moorhead's Andersen and Miranda Griechen 6-0 and UMary's Chong and Ilona Freitag 6-3.

The Vikings will head south to Orlando, Florida, as part of their spring break trip with matches on Mar. 7-9. Augustana will face nonconference foes in Division I opponent Oakland, and Division II foes in Palm Beach Atlantic and Embry Riddle.
