Rain Forces Tie for Augustana Baseball Saturday

ORLANDO, Fla.--Augustana baseball ended the annual spring trip with a 2-2 tie against Seton Hill on Saturday. Heavy rain in the area suspended, then had the game called final, in the bottom of the sixth inning. Augustana finishes the week 8-3-1 and Seton Hill moves to 7-4-1.

Sophomore righty Caleb Saari got the start on the mound for the Vikings. Saari pitched a total of five innings, striking out 10 and facing 23 batters.

Seton Hill started the scoring in the bottom of the second inning with a single to the left side allowing the runner to reach home. The Vikings were quick to tie it up in the top of the third inning when Trevor Winterstein lined out, bringing JT Mix home.

Augustana added another run in the same inning to take the lead over the Griffins. Carter Howell lined out to right field, which scored Jack Hines for the sacrifice.

The Griffins added a run to the board in the fourth inning, tying the contest up at 2-2.

Hines and Jordan Barth each recorded one hit. Howell and Winterstein logged RBI's in the Saturday matchup.
