Augustana Women’s Golf Set to Host Easter Lily Invitational This Weekend

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana women's golf team will play host to the Augustana Easter Lily Invitational this weekend at Willow Run Golf Course in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. 

Play will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. on Friday. On Saturday, there will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Willow Run Golf Course plays at 5,960 yards to a par 70. 

Augustana will be joined by golfers from MSU Moorhead, Minnesota-Crookston, and Sioux Falls.

The Vikings are coming off a fourth place finish in the Wildcat Classic with a score of 629 over the two-day event this past Monday and Tuesday. The Vikings saw four top-10 finishes in the event led by Lauren Tims with a two-day score of 153 to take fourth. 

Augustana competed at the Newman Invitational April 4-5 where it placed seventh in the event with 622 strokes. Molly Stevens would tie for fourth in the event with 148 strokes over the two day event. 

The Vikings opened the spring season with a pair of third place finishes at the Augustana Spring Fling in Palm Desert, California, and the Midwest Intercollegiate Invite in Bolivar, Missouri. Stevens would be the leader for the Vikings in both of the events where she placed in a tie for third in the Spring Fling and tie for seventh in the Midwest Intercollegiate Invite. 

For the season, Stevens leads the Vikings with a 76.37 average over 9 events and 19 rounds played. Natalie Young is right behind at 78.58 strokes over nine events and 19 rounds played. Tims is third on the roster at 79.21 which includes her career low round of 71 at the Newman Invitational. 

The Vikings will next compete in the NSIC Championships at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Missouri, April 22-24.
