4/22/2022 11:37:00 AM

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana softball team is once again playing in Sioux Falls in a site-reversal. The No. 12 Vikings will be the visitor on the scoreboard while hosting Minnesota Crookston on Sunday and Bemidji State on Monday. Both doubleheaders are slated for noon starts.

Live stats will be available at GoAugie.com/Live or on the GoAugie Fan App, presented by CellOnly.

About the Golden Eagles
Minnesota Crookston is 14-29 overall and 5-13 in NSIC action. In its most recent game, UMC split with Minot State, falling 6-5 in game one and bounced back with a 3-0 game two victory.

The Golden Eagles have two hitters with an above .300 batting average, led by Alina Avalos and her .364 average. Jordan Peterson owns a .356 average. Dana Zarn leads the team with five home runs and a .609 slugging percentage.

Evie Stuck leads the pitching corps with a 7-13 record while her ERA stands at 4.85.

About the Beavers
Bemidji State is 10-28 on the season and owns a 7-11 record in NSIC action. Most recently, the Beavers swept UMary by scores of 5-1 and 1-0 in a doubleheader that took place Thursday.

In the batter's box, Mariah Stevenson leads the way with her .324 batting average. The power comes from Elaina Christiansen as she has tallied four home runs. Stevenson, however, owns the most RBI with 18 and leads the team with 11 doubles.

In the circle, a duo of pitchers has four and five wins. Kaidron McClafferty is 4-10 on the year with a 3.77 ERA while Stella Dolan is 5-13 with a 3.89 ERA.

About the Vikings
Augustana is 34-7 after having won 15-straight games. In the NSIC, the Vikings remain in first place with an 18-2 record. The Vikings last played Thursday, earning 3-2 and 10-2 wins over Upper Iowa.

Every hitter in the Vikings' lineup is batting .320 or better while Gracey Brink leads the way at .459. Mary Pardo is four home runs shy of tying Augustana's single-season record of 23 as she enters the weekend having swatted 19 home runs. She ranks third in NCAA Division II with those 19 home runs.

Augustana continues to use the tandem of Amber Elliott and Ashley Mickschl in the circle as the duo owns identical 14-2 records. Elliott's ERA is at 1.41 while Mickschl is at 1.72. Elliott is coming off a 12-strikeout game over the Peacocks.

One Last Thing
We can talk a lot about winning 15-straight games. But the Vikings have an even more impressive streak on their hands, having won 39 straight home games. That easily tops the best in NCAA Division II, but is also the best across all divisions of college softball. Oklahoma owns Division I's best home winning streak at 32 while Christian Newport owns the feat at DIII at 25 games. Augustana last fell on its home field during the 2019 season.
