GREENSBORO, N.C.– Augustana baseball saw five of its players earn All-Region accolades the American Baseball Coaches Association announced Wednesday.
Will Olson, Carter Howell, Ryan Jares and Tanner Brown all earned ABCA/Rawlings Central All-Region First Team honors while Jordan Barth was named to the ABCA/Rawlings Central All-Region Second Team.
Will Olson | Omaha, Neb.
Olson earned First-Team All-Region honors for the second time in his career. Olson also picked up NCBWA Second-Team honors and D2CCA Second-Team honors in the 2022 season. He has a batting average of .379 and has consistently been one of the top batters for the Vikings this season.
The senior catcher has tallied 75 hits, 15 doubles, 12 home runs, 63 RBI and has started in 56 of the 58 games that he has played this season. Behind the plate, Olson's fielding percentage sits at .987.
Carter Howell | Moorhead, Minn.
Howell earns First-Team All-Region honors for the second time in his career as a Viking. Howell has earned D2CCA and NCBWA First-Team All-Region honors in 2022. Starting in all 61 games, Howell hit .396 with 68 runs scored, 91 hits, 11 doubles, three triples, 17 home runs and 74 RBI.
The senior stole 23 bases in 25 attempts and notched 91 hits. He also has a .691 SLG% and a .447 OB%.
Ryan Jares | Windsor, Colo.
Jares earned First-Team All-Region honors for the first time in his career after being named to the All-Region Second-Team last year. He also added NCBWA First-Team All-Region honors and D2CCA Second-Team All-Region honors. The righty held a 8-2 record throughout the 2022 season, spending 81 innings and making 14 starts on the mound.
Overall, he has recorded 109 strikeouts and is second in the Augustana record book for single-season strikeouts. Jares is fifth in the nation for WHIP as he gives up less than a walk or hit per inning pitched.
Tanner Brown | Harrisburg, S.D.
Brown, a senior lefty from Harrisburg, South Dakota, sees a spot on the All-Region First Team for the first time in his career. Also named the 2022 NSIC Pitcher of the Year, he leads Augustana as the all-time strikeout leader with 301.
Brown holds a record of 9-1 in 2022. In 87.1 innings pitched, he has struck out 117 hitters and has an ERA of 2.89. With his 25th career win against Central Missouri, Brown became the leader in career pitching wins at Augustana. His career record is 25-3.
Brown has been named the NSIC Pitcher of the Week three times in his career, with the most recent honor coming after the win over Bemidji State which saw Brown break the career strikeout record.
Jordan Barth | Cold Spring, Minn.
This is Barth's first time earning ABCA/Rawlings Second-Team All-Region honors. Barth also added D2CCA First-Team All-Region honors and NCBWA Second-Team All-Region honors this season. The senior holds three career records: most doubles, most RBI and most hits.
In 2022, Barth has the third-highest batting average in the lineup at .380. He leads the team in hits with 93 and 245 at bats. The senior has logged 20 doubles, 15 home runs, two triples, 52 RBI and stole 13 bases in 16 attempts.

ABCA/Rawlings All-Region First-Team selections are nominated for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors. The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-Americans will be announced on Friday, June 3. The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove winners for all divisions will be announced Wednesday, June 22.
