TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has selected both the Augustana men's and women's tennis teams to the All-Academic Team the association announced Thursday. 

Along with the team award, four Viking women were also selected as ITA Scholar-Athletes, Gabriela Jancikova, Margarita Chouliara, Emily Granson and Aleksandra Kistanova. On the men's side six were awarded, Christian Cortinas, Tyson Cowger, Henry Dornbusch, Joseph Plachy, Gavin Schmit and Tory Shafer were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.

In 2022, 715 Division II Women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and 110 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction

On the men's side in 2022, 545 Division II Men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and 74 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirement: have a grade point average of at least a 3.5 GPA for the current academic year. 

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements: have a team GPA of at least 3.2 or above.
