About The Game
The Vikings are set to face off against their first ranked opponent in program history as it faces No. 2 Denver Friday night at 8 p.m. (CDT).

After a ranked Friday night game, Viking hockey takes a quick bus trip to Colorado Springs for Saturday night showdown against Colorado College. The puck will drop at 7 p.m. (CDT).

The Pioneers
The 2022 National Champions have been on a tear to open up the 2023-24 campaign with a record of 3-1 with their most recent win being over No. 3 Boston College.

The Pioneers are led by Jack Devine and Massimo Rizzo who both have a team-high 10 points apiece. Devine, a seventh round pick to the Florida Panthers in 2022, leads the team with five goals. Rizzo, a seventh round pick to the Philadelphia Flyers in 2019, has tallied a team-high eight assists.

Freshman defenseman Boston Buckberger was named NCHC defenseman of the Week after he totaled two assists, two shots, one block and a plus-1 rating in the Pioneers' two games over the weekend.

The Tigers
Colorado College comes into the weekend with a 4-0 record after grabbing back-to-back weekend sweeps over Union and LIU.

Led by a handful of Tigers, the team will look to lean on Drew Montgomery and Jack Miller who both lead CC in points. Montgomery has tallied two goals and two assists. A local connection to Sioux Falls, the freshman forward played a handful of games for the Sioux Falls Power in his youth.

Miller, a senior defenseman who has totaled 102 games for the Tigers, is off to the best start of his college career with a team-high four points by way of one goal and three assists.

The Vikings
Augustana comes into the weekend off a well deserved bye week as the Vikings secured their first two wins in program history on October 14 and 15. In its first-ever home games, AU defeated CCHA foe Bowling Green by scores of 3-2 and 4-1.

Hunter Bischoff etched his name into history as he will go down as the first player in program history to score a Viking Goal. Bischoff continued his hot weekend with a goal in Sunday's win.

Zack Rose stood tall for the Vikings as he made 68 saves through two games against his former team, BGSU. The senior goalie had a .958 save percentage and a 1.50 goals against average.

Despite the lack of scoring in Augustana's power play, the Vikings have been unstoppable on the penalty kill. AU has stayed perfect throughout the early season when killing off a total of 18 penalties.

One Last Thing
As the Vikings take the ice in Ed Robson Arena, the home of Colorado College, there will be a few similarities to when they take the ice of Midco Arena. JLG Architects designed each facility with inspirations from various aspects that were implemented into Midco Arena.
