SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Viking hockey hits the road for a pair of matchups against Lindenwood University in a weekend between two of the newest members to Division I hockey.

Complete action can be followed on GoAugie.com/Live and the GoAugie app, presented by The Original Pancake House. The app can be downloaded in the app store or Google Play.

About The Game
Augustana's inaugural season is presented by First PREMIER Bank / PREMIER Bankcard while playing yet another new opponent. Puck drop is set for 7:10 p.m.on Friday and 7:10 p.m. on Saturday inside Centene Community Ice Center.

The Lions
Lindenwood (1-5-2) is coming off a bye week after losing to the University of Michigan by scores of 9-1 and 10-1. The Lions will host their first home games this weekend against Augustana after a month on the road.

LU has played a handful of tough matchups to open the season, splitting with Air Force in its opening weekend before losing and tying then No. 15 Ohio State. After a weekend in Columbus, Ohio, the Lions traveled up to face CCHA foe St. Thomas where they forced a tie Friday night but fell Saturday.

Lindenwood was in the same position as Augustana is this season as it started up its program last season as the 63rd NCAA Division I hockey program. The Lions joined the NCAA after a successful stint as a club program in the ACHA.

Led by Trent Burnham between the pipes, Lindenwood will look to spoil the Vikings' weekend. Burnham has connections to Sioux Falls, S.D. as he suited up in 34 games for the Sioux Falls Stampede in 2020-21.

The Lions have two players familiar with the CCHA, as Adam Conquest transferred from Bowling Green and Brenden Rons from Ferris State.

The Vikings
Augustana (3-4-1) hits the road for its third weekend in a row after dropping two contests to CCHA opponent Michigan Tech last weekend. The Vikings will look to lean on a slew of players to propel past the Lions.

Last weekend, Augustana battled Michigan Tech in back to back matchups Friday and Saturday. After an opening frame of four goals for the Vikings, the Huskies battled back to win the game 6-4. On Saturday, the game was settled in overtime as MTU came out successful with its first two wins of the season.
Augustana saw a handful of players record points as 10 different Vikings found the scoresheet. Quinn Rudrud and Jack Jensen found the back of the net both nights.

One More Thing
The Vikings' penalty kill is ranked 16th in the nation and first among CCHA opponents, the future league Augustana will be full members of in 2025-26.
