Six Add Name to Acrobatics & Tumbling Roster on National Signing Day

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – After the inaugural acrobatics and tumbling season at Augustana University, head coach Kaelyn Cowan announced the third-ever recruiting class to the program Wednesday. The Vikings are set to add six athletes at the beginning of the 2024-25 academic year. 
 
Continuing with a nationwide, and international, approach in recruiting, the third class in program history comes from five states and a Canadian province. The states represented in this class are Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, South Dakota, Texas along with a future Viking from Alberta, Canada.
 
"We are thrilled to be adding six new signees to our 2024-2025 roster" Cowan said. "These athletes each bring a unique skill set that will continue to add to our solid foundation. In this group, we are excited to announce our first international signee as well.
 
"This sport continues to grow, and we are ecstatic about the talent and technique that these six women will bring to Augustana."
 
Cadence Conger | Cypress, Texas | Bridgeland High School
Conger will join Augustana from Bridgeland High School and plans to earn her degree in exercise science. Along with a minor with American Sign Language, Conger hopes to become a pediatric physical therapist, occupational therapist or chiropractor.
 
Lexi Cote | Calgary, Alberta | Our Lady of the Rockies High School
Augustana's first-ever international recruit, Cote plans to earn her degree in biology. With that degree, she plans a career in radiology.
 
Danica Hahn | Maple Grove, Minn. | Maple Grove High School
Hahn is a two-time varsity letter winner and captain in gymnastics during her time at Maple Grove High School. She Achieved a 10th place finish in the all-around and finished eighth on the beam at the sectionals meet. She plans to earn her degree in exercise science from Augustana.
 
Josie Reitmeier | Sioux Falls, S.D. | Washington High School
Reitmeier was a Region 4 bar champion in 2021, an all-around state champion at level 7 in 2021 and level 8 in 2022. She plans to earn her degree in biology from Augustana. Reitmeier is the daughter of Augustana Hall of Fame wrestler and head coach Jason Reitmeier.
 
Charlotte Novak | Overland Park, Kan. | Blue Valley West High School
Novak, a three-time regional qualifier, was a state champion on the beam her sophomore season at Blue Valley West High School in 2022. During her junior year, she earned top honors in the floor and all-around at state in 2023. She plans to earn her degree in secondary education from Augustana.
 
Auna Schmidt | Martensdale, Iowa | Martensdale St.Marys Community School
Schmidt participated in USAG – Development Team with levels 3-8. While at Augustana, she plans to earn her degree in business administration with a career goal of working in sales.
