SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The NSIC Champion Augustana football team had six of its members selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) to the 2023 Academic All-District team. The honorees are Peyton Buckley, Mitchell Goodbary, C.J. James, Logan Uttecht, Logan Leonard and Jack Fisher.
 
The 2022 Academic All-District® Football Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Jan. 23, 2024.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are financially supported in part by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is financially supported in part through the NAIA governance structure.
 
Peyton Buckley

• Earns Second-Straight All-District honor
• All-America honors from the AFCA, AP and D2CCA
• First Team All-NSIC at defensive back
• Led Augustana with 78 tackles

 
Mitchell Goodbary

• Earns Second-Straight All-District honor
• NSIC's Elite 18 Award Winner as top football student-athlete
• Earned Second Team All-NSIC honors
• Made 17 receptions with three touchdowns from the tight end position

 
C.J. James

• Earns Second-Straight All-District honor
• Started all 11 games at left guard
• Protected a rushing attack that saw a running back eclipse 1,000 yards
• Protected a quarterback that led the NSIC and ranked 13^th nationally in passing efficiency

 
Logan Uttecht

• Earns Second-Straight All-District honor
• Made 34 receptions in 13 games with 404 yards receiving
• Ranked second on team with five touchdowns
• Concludes career with 1,653 yards receiving and 17 touchdowns

 
Logan Leonard

• Saw action in 13 games for Augustana making a start
• Made 31 tackles including 26 solo
• Intercepted three passes to tie for the team lead

 
Jack Fisher

• Earned Second Team All-NSIC honors
• Ranked second on team with 549 yards receiving
• Hauled in four touchdowns with a long of 80 yards
