Two S&D Champions after Day One of NSIC Championships

WEST FARGO, N.D. – The Augustana women's swimming & diving squad opened day one of the NSIC Championships with two first place finishes and four individual all-conference placements and one relay team. Augustana leads in scoring following day one with 272 total points.

The Vikings saw a first place finish in Bryn Greenwaldt who swam the 50 free in a time of 23.31 for 17 points. Greenwaldt was also a member of the 200 freestyle relay who also took home first place in a time of 1:36.09. She was joined by teammates Kamryn Robarge, Angelina Chan and Makoa Montgomery. The group totaled 40 points for Augustana claiming their mark as NSIC Champions. 

Augustana swept the 50 free event seeing a first through third place finish for AU. Robarge and Montgomery each joined Greenwaldt on the podium etching their names in the NSIC All-Conference standings. Montgomery made her mark in the 50 free claiming a second place finish with a time of 23.95. Robarge was inches behind staking her claim in third place with a time of 23.97. 

Libby Breckon was the first Viking to claim NSIC All-Conference in a third place finish in the 1000 freestyle. Breckon garnered 16 points for Augustana in the event setting AU up for the success to come. 

"Super proud of the women today," said head coach Lindsie Micko. "This morning we did a great job of getting a lot of them into finals and tonight after a disappointing start, we absolutely raced our hearts out. It's a great first day and we are looking forward to day two."

Up Next
Augustana returns to action tomorrow at day two of the NSIC Championships in West Fargo, North Dakota. The preliminary round begins at 10 a.m. with finals taking place at 5:30 p.m.
