SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana softball team, much like most teams in the upper Midwest this year, has seen more adjustments to its schedule. Originally, the Vikings were supposed to play in a tournament hosted by Missouri Western this weekend. However, that has been canceled and the Vikings picked up four more games in the process.

Augustana is at Rockhurst in Kansas City, Missouri, on Sunday for a doubleheader beginning at noon. On Monday, the Vikings take the short trek to Warrensburg, Missouri, to face Central Missouri with a 1 p.m. first pitch in the doubleheader. On Tuesday, the Vikings will play a neutral-site contest with Nebraska Kearney in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on the campus of Iowa Western.

The Hawks
Rockhurst is 3-10 on the seaon having dropped seven-straight games. Members of the GLVC, the conference opener is slated for Saturday against Southwest Baptist before playing the Vikings.

Maya Gallagher is the team's leader in batting with a .361 average while slugging at a .667 clip. In the circle, Bre Barchak is 1-2 with a team-low 4.38 ERA. Anna Newcomer has accumulated the other two pitching wins with her 4.70 ERA.

The Jennies
Central Missouri is 16-7 on the season. As members of the MIAA, UCM opening conference action last week and is currently 2-2.

Makenzie McAtee bats .400 and co-leads the team with four home runs. Ashlyn Cook also has hit four home runs and a team-best 23 RBI. Andi Siebeneck is the team's top pitcher holding a 4-2 record with a 2.31 ERA. Her WHIP is among the nation's best at .99.

The Lopers
Nebraska Kearney is 12-14 on the season but has started MIAA action off strong with a 3-1 record. Two of those wins have come against Augustana's most recent opponent, Northwest Missouri State.

Jaiden Harteker is the team's leader in the box with a .408 average while Sydney Thomason brings the power with seven home runs. Thomason also brings the power pitching, leading UNK with a 6-2 record and 3.50 ERA.

The Vikings
Augustana is 8-7 after a year of not knowing where, who or when it'll play. The Viking shave won five of their last six games after splitting with Northwest Missouri State Wednesday.

Left fielder
Gracey Brink is putting together another All-America campaign with her .455 average with five home runs, three doubles and 21 RBI. She is third in the nation with her four sacrifice flies in 2023.

Hailey Houston is 3-1 in the pitcher's circle while holding a 3.00 ERA. She has also accumulated a shutout on her 2023 resume.
