Augustana Baseball Sees Five Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Augustana baseball had five of its student-athletes selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) to the 2022-23 Academic All-District team. The honorees are Luke Ballweg, Ryan Jares, Joshua Koskie, Tate Meiners and Seth Miller.

Luke Ballweg
Ballweg, from Cross Plains, Wisconsin, earned All–District honors for the first time in his career. Ballweg has appeared in 53 games while making 44 starts. He has a batting average of .280 with 37 hits, 10 doubles and 29 RBI. 

Ryan Jares
Jares, from Windsor, Colorado, has appeared in 16 games while making 11 starts on the mound this season. Jares has recorded 57 strikeouts this season and is second in the record books for single-season strikeouts as he logged 109 last season. Jares garnered CoSIDA Academic All-District honors in 2022.

Joshua Koskie
Koskie, from Medina, Minnesota, has played in 43 games in 2023 with 22 starts. Koskie is hitting .274 with 20 hits, five doubles and two home runs. The academic honor is the first of his career as a Viking. 

Tate Meiners
Meiners, from Caledonia, Minnesota, is a two-time NSIC All-Academic honoree. He has made 36 starts this season and has recorded 31 hits, eight doubles and 12 home runs while scoring 31 runs for AU. 

Seth Miller
Miller, from Blaine, Minnesota, is 9-1 on the hill, having tossed 77.2 innings this season. He has amassed 82 strikeouts and has an ERA of 3.01 in 2023. Miller was named the NSIC Outstanding Senior of the Year and is a three-time NSIC All-Academic honoree. 

The Vikings travel to Warrensburg, Missouri, this week for the NCAA Central Regional. The team faces Ouachita Baptist at 2 p.m. Thursday to open the postseason tournament. 

The Division II and III CSC Academic All‐America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022‐23 Divisions II and III Academic All‐ America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All‐America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
