ST. CLOUD, Minn.--The Augustana baseball team saw six Vikings earn NCBWA All-Central Region honors, announced Wednesday by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Adam Diedrich and Seth Miller were named to the NCBWA All-Central Region First Team while Drey Dirksen, Nick Banowetz, Caleb Saari and Jack Hines earned NCBWA All-Central Region Honorable Mention honors.

The NCBWA All-Region teams are voted on by members of the organization's regional committees, comprised of sports information directors and athletic communications specialists. Each First-Team member automatically advances to the All-America ballot, and teams will be announced in late May.

Adam Diedrich
Diedrich leads the Viking pitching staff with 12 saves this season, ranking first in the nation. Diedrich has spent 29 innings on the hill and has logged 33 strikeouts while holding opponents to just 19 hits in 2023 to garner First Team All-Central Region honors.

Seth Miller
Miller, from Blaine, Minnesota, earns his first All-Region honor. He is 9-1 on the hill, having tossed 77.2 innings this season. Miller has amassed 82 strikeouts and has an ERA of 3.01 in 2023. 

Drey Dirksen
Dirksen, from Spicer, Minnesota, earns NCBWA honorable mention honors. He leads the team with 17 doubles, 14 home runs, and 53 RBI. Dirksen is hitting .357 and has scored a team-leading 57 runs for the Vikings. The junior also has a .992 fielding percentage. 

Nick Banowetz
Banowetz, hailing from Robins, Iowa, has totaled 72 hits with 11 doubles and two triples, hitting at a .360 average to earn NCBWA honorable mention honors. Banowetz has logged 29 RBI and is 32-of-36 on stolen base attempts. 

Caleb Saari
Saari, from Moorhead, Minnesota, has recorded 74 strikeouts with a 2.89 ERA and a 5-3 record and earns NCBWA honorable mention honors.He has a 1.04 WHIP and has made 11 starts on the bump for Augustana in 2023, holding opponents to a .212 batting average.

Jack Hines
Hines boasts the highest batting average at .361, along with 74 hits, 12 doubles, five triples, and 34 RBI to earn NCBWA honorable mention honors. The junior, from Lombard, Illinois, is 19-of-21 on stolen base attempts and has scored 47 runs for Augustana in 2023.
