BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Augustana men's golf team opened its 2023 season Monday and Tuesday with a sixth-place finish at the Bemidji State Golf Invite. Junior Emmet Hansen, competing in his first event for the Vikings, led the way for AU with a 3-over par 145.
 
Hansen fired a 1-over 71 in the opening round and followed with a 73 in the second round to place in a tie for seventh place. Will Allen placed in a tie for ninth with 146 strokes after shooting 72-74.
 
Jacob Stewart tied for 32^nd with 153 strokes as Blake Northagen was tied for 36^th with 154 shots. The final AU scorer was Cullen Johnson who placed 50^th with 160 strokes.
 
Minnesota State won the event while shooting 576 as a team. Augustana's team score tallied at 597 strokes.
 
Augustana is back in action Sept. 18-19 at the Fall Brawl hosted by Minnesota State. The event is set to take place in Hudson, Wisconsin.
