BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Augustana women's swimming & diving team earned a pair of preseason accolades Thursday as Bryn Greenwaldt was named the NSIC Preseason Swimmer of the Year. The team as a whole was picked to repeat as the NSIC Champions, a year after earning its first conference championship just seven years into its existence.

Greenwaldt was named the NSIC Swimmer of the Year as a true freshman in 2022-23 after dominating in the pool with a pair of All-America honors in the 50-free and 100-free. Additionally, she earned All-America accolades in the 200-yard free relay and the 200-yard medley relay. She was the national runner-up in the 50-free as she touched the wall in a time of 22.56. In just one year of competing, Greenwaldt has her named etched in the record book individually four times and holds another four relay school records.

"Bryn was the NSIC Swimmer of the Year as a freshman and will look to improve on an exceptional first year," Augustana head coach Andrew Makepeace said. "Her performance at the NCAA Championships was memorable as she finished as the runner up in the 50-yard freestyle and A Final qualifier in the 100-Freestyle. Her impact on relays will also be felt all season long and during championship portions."

In addition, the Vikings had Kate Robbins named as their Diver to Watch. The junior from Victoria, Minnesota, is the Vikings' school record holder in the 3-meter drive with 222.25 points on six dives and 365.25 points on 11 dives.

"Kate holds record for 6 and 11 Dives on the 3-meter board," Makepeace added. "She placed just outside the top eight at her first NSIC Championship after competing for a season at USD. Kate has great potential and should hit her qualifying scores for the NCAA Pre-Qualification Meet early this season"
