NEW ORLEANS - For the second time in as many competitions,
Ryan Hartman's efforts on the cross country circuit have gained national praise as he was named US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II National Athlete of the Week.
The senior from Wausau, Wisconsin, placed first at the Lewis Crossover by 8.5 seconds and took home his second individual title of the year. He claimed the 8k in a personal-best 23:38.48, shattering his previous PR of 24:18.8.
The win continues a dominant season for Hartman. He has now competed three times with two victories and a second place finish. He earned National Athlete of the Week honors for both of his victories and has won NSIC Athlete of the Week following each race.
Hartman became the second honoree of the USTFCCCA Athlete of the Week award in program history on September 24 and joins Runa Falch as a two-time honoree.
